Description

Emergency management exercises are an essential part of plan review and validation. They may also be used to evaluate the planning processes used, to identify needs, or to demonstrate capabilities. The management of an exercise is a systematic process involving consultation, planning, documenting, conducting, evaluation and validation. All organisations involved in emergency management should also be involved in the development of emergency management exercises. This course is relevant to the development of small site Emergency Response Team exercises and to the development of multi-agency, community emergency management exercises.

Aim

To develop participants' ability to manage a wide range of exercises.

Guidance for Attendance

The Exercise Management Course is intended for those who will be responsible for the development of emergency management exercises, either site-specific or community oriented. Typical participants may be Health and Safety managers, Response Team leaders or those likely to represent their organisation on multi-agency exercise development team.

EPS  Membership

This course has been endorsed by the Emergency Planning Society (EPS). Delegates who attend this course are entitled to apply for 12 months free EPS Associate Membership and can claim up to 3 CPD points with the Emergency Planning Society.

Duration

The duration of the course is one day and runs from 0900hrs to 1700hrs

NORMIT Members - £150 per delegate

Non Members - £400 per delegate

EPS Members -10% discount on Non Member price.
