Crisis Care Awareness Raising Day
Dates
We have cancelled the next course. As soon as a new date is fixed we will add it.
Description
The course looks at the psychological and social impact of traumatic incidents on those caught up in them. Although it concentrates on major incidents, the material is relevant for any trauma, from a plane crash to an individual assault, or a suicide.
In this workshop, delegates will be given advice on how to prepare for and deliver a media interview. They will then have an opportunity to apply this knowledge in front of the camera and receive a friendly critique and further advice.
Aim
To introduce delegates to some of the major themes in the provision of effective crisis care to survivors, the bereaved and helpers following a disaster.
Issues Examined
- The impact of a major incident
- The range of normal reactions to traumatic shock
- Short term and long term reactions
