Business Continuity Awareness Week
21 - 25 March 2011
This is an annual international event designed to to raise awareness and show the growing importance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) as an integral management tool.
Challenge of the Day
Every day this week we will be giving you a BC Challenge. Spending a small amount of time every day this week thinking about BC could help you improve the resilience of your organisation.
Friday's Challenge
Have all staff got ‘ICE’ numbers on their mobiles? (In Case of Emergency)
Having ICE numbers listed will help the Emergency Services contact
your next of kin if you are involved in an incident. For more information
look at the poster by following this link.
Thursday's Challenge
Give consideration to where you could work and how you would talk to
colleagues if you lost access to your building?
Prior to any incident it is a good idea to think about where staff
could work from and let them know.
Wednesday's Challenge
Have you considered and documented what you would do if you couldn’t
access IT systems?
Consider options for manual workarounds and having paper systems
available.
Tuesday's Challenge
Why not check that all key contact details in your plans are up to date?
A quick check of numbers now could save vital time during an
incident. Don’t forget that if your home or mobile numbers change ensure
they are updated within your organisation.
Monday's
Challenge
Are copies
of Business Continuity Plans up to date ~ even those kept at home?
A quick audit of your plans will ensure that everybody
is using the latest version.
