Business Continuity Workshop
Dates
10 June 2008
9 December 2008
Description
Recent events, especially the publication of the Civil Contingencies Bill, have
re-emphasised the need for business continuity planning. A wide range of incidents
can disrupt day-to-day operations that, in turn, will challenge long-term business
survival. This Workshop gives a simple approach to ensuring continuity for small
and medium scale businesses. By offering simple, practical solutions, even the
smallest of companies can help themselves to survive if affected by an emergency.
Aim
To enhance participants' ability to develop a Business Continuity strategy
Issues Examined
- What is a Business Continuity Plan?
- How do I identify, prioritise
and evaluate risks to my business?
- What risk management strategies
can I implement?
- What facilities do I need to continue business through a crisis?

- Looks at the guidance both from the British Standards Institute BS25999 and
that contained within the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
